The debut of Seven's new renovation show House Rules has failed attract eyeballs episode with just 803,000 metro viewers. Conversely, Nine's The Block: Sky High stayed strong with over 1.3 million viewers.
Seven's House Rules - which sees "six Aussie teams put their homes on the line and skills to the test in a fight for renovation supremacy and a life-changing prize", according to the network - premiered last night to an audience of 803,000 metro viewers.
The figure is likely a shock for Seven
which has performed consistently well this year with hugely popular
returning formats such as My Kitchen Rules (MKR) and Packed to the
Rafters. MRK - which finished last month - lured audiences as large
as two million.
Last night's episode of family drama Packed to the
Rafters was the sixth most-watched program of the night with an
audience of just over one million. Other programs on the network which
performed well included Seven News (1.3 million) and Today Tonight
(1.08 million).
It was no match for Channel Nine however which held its rein as overall winner of the night. The Voice was once again the most-watched show with over 1.5 million metro viewers. The Block: Sky High came in second place with an audience of 1.3 million. This has been its average since it launched on Sunday night.
Other programs in the Top 20 - according to Overnight ratings from OzTam - included Nine's Celebrity Apprentice, Seven's Home and Away and Network Ten's The Biggest Loser: Next Generation. Ten's reality weight loss show gathered 620,000 metro viewers, slightly down on Monday night's 658,000.
Across the main channels, Nine won the night with 33.4%. Seven gained 25.8%, ABC 17.7% while Ten attracted 16.6%. SBS had a share of 6.5%.
