Hamish and Andy top the night

Hamish and Andy's Euro Gap Year took out the top spot in the ratings last night with solid figures for their debut episode.

In their second outing in the "Gap Year" series they pulled 1.41 million viewers for their opening night, which just beat Seven News in second place with 1.35 million, according to OzTam's preliminary overnight figures. Last night's episode saw the duo jumping off a 25 metre high bridge in Bosnia to prove themselves as "real men".

The Block once again continues to win high ratings for Channel Nine and again took out the 7pm time slot with 1.31 million over MasterChef with 1.05 million.

The only other non-news or current affair program program within the top ten was a repeat of US comedy series Modern Family with 767,000 viewers.

Other programs within the top 20 last night included: Nine News (Nine), Today Tonight (Seven), A Current Affair (Nine), The Project (Ten), The Big Bang Theory (Nine), Seven's AFL: Thursday Night Football (Seven), Law and Order: SVU (Ten), Silk (ABC), Home and Away (Seven), Hot Seat (Nine) and Deal or No Deal (Seven).

Nine narrowly edged out Seven by only 0.3%. Nine finished the night with 22.9% of the nations audience with Seven garnering 22.6%. Ten followed in third with 15.1%, while the ABC had 10.5% and SBS had 4.9%.
