Nine's Celebrity Apprentice commanded its highest ratings for the year with its finale last night but still only managed 1.03 million people.
The competition reality series saw 1.03 million metro viewers tune in but was significantly down from last year's finale which had 1.61 million people, according to preliminary overnight figures from OzTam. Across its three segmented ratings blocks, the show garnered 1.03 million, 901,000 and 837,000 viewers.
The program has failed to make the same mark as the last series which built its way to a solid ratings run. In 2012, it debuted to a soft 908,000 people. Yesterday's finale result was accidently leaked on Ninemsn earlier in the day.
News and current affairs dominated on Wednesday with Seven News, Nine News and Today Tonight taking out the top three positions.
The Block beat out MasterChef in the 7pm timeslot with 1.10 million and 933,000 viewers respectively.
Other top 20 programs were Australia's Got Talent (Seven), A Current Affair (Nine), ABC News, Home and Away (Seven), Bones (Seven), Offspring (Ten), Hot Seat (Nine), Deal or No Deal (Seven), Ten News, 7:30 (ABC), The Project (Ten) and Castle (Seven).
Across the main channels, Seven won the night with 24% of audience share, followed by Nine with 20.5%. Ten with 14.5%. the ABC with 10.1% and SBS had 5.3%.
