Canon marketing boss Darren Ryan, who steered the brand's acclaimed 'World of EOS' campaigns, has resigned his post after seven years.

Ryan will finish on 26 April as general manager of marketing – Canon Consumer Imaging. A search for a replacement is already “well underway” according to Canon.

Ryan and creative agency Leo Burnett Sydney developed the highly award 'World of EOS' campaigns for the brand. The campaign took out the Cannes Grand Prix for Media in 2010.

Canon director – Canon Consumer Imaging Jason McLean said: “After nearly seven years with Canon, Darren feels the time is right for a change and is comfortable to take some time out to consider the future. Darren's characteristic focus, dedication and passion have left an indelible mark on Canon and he will leave us with a great legacy for future growth and achievement.

“My leadership team is always focused on the future and defining Canon's role in enhancing the consumer experience. As a core member of the team, Darren has helped establish a strong platform for the future, and over the next couple of months we'll be looking for the right person to take over the reins and continue on the clear path we have set.”
