SYDNEY: Ateco Automotive has shortlisted four agencies for its $15 million media account with Ikon and OMD to pitch against incumbents PHD and Pearman, AdNews can reveal.

As reported in AdNews last week, (12 February, 2010, page 3) Ateco Automotive confirmed plans to review its media arrangements and had approached several agencies though pitch consultancy The Clinic.

Previously, the account had been split, with PHD taking care of buying and planning for Citroen, Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Chinese brands Chery and Great Wall Motors, while Pearman Media was responible for the luxury Italian marques Ferrari and Maserati.

The agencies will now be pitching for the consolidated media buying account, while Match will continue to look after strategic planning for the Chinese car brands.

Ateco managing director Ric Hull hinted that Match's remit could expand across the rest of the brands in Atecos's stable.
