Will Rick get the gang out of Alexandria alive? Maybe. Will Michone keep slicing and dicing biters with super violent- nonchalance. Probably. Will Daryl continue to surprise us all with the sensitive side underneath his leather vest? Hopefully. All will be revelaed in sereis six of The Walking Dead, which returns to FX next week.

As part of a promo for the new season zombies are taking over Sydney's Opera House.

FX channel has installed a giant zombie hand and a herd of 30 decomposing zombies will roam the streets around the Opera House to mark the countdown until the season returns.

The 4 metre high decomposing hand protrudes from the Opera House’s iconic steps. Iconic Sydney ice cream store Gelato Messina has also created a zombie-tastic flavour and is hosting a pop-up stall during the upcoming Graphic festival on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October

FX marketing and digital media manager Jamie Zarzycki said: “When a giant Walker hand emerges from beneath the harbour through the Sydney Opera House steps it can mean only one thing… The countdown is well and truly underway for the eagerly anticipated premiere of the sixth season of The Walking Dead on FX.”

Declan Lee, co-owner of Gelato Messina, added: “Making bloody fingers and edible brains from gelato was right up our street, so when FX came to us about the project we jumped straight into the kitchen to test how we could make something scary and delicious in one go. Fast forward a few days of tasting, testing and layers of chocolate gelato, we’ve made a Messina version of Carl’s Chocolate Pudding and thrown in some added surprises”
