Our Young Gun profile takes a look at some of the young talent across the advertising, adtech, marketing and media sector in Australia. It aims to shed light on the varying roles, people and companies across the buzzing industry.

Today we speak to Sense Group associate producer Taylor Saul.

Time at the company:
Two years in March - woo!

How long have you been in the industry?
Four years.

How did you get here? Was this always the plan?
In 2017 I was living in LA grinding in the music industry. I moved over to study an associate’s degree in songwriting at Los Angeles College of Music. Two years in I found myself working as a marketing assistant at Jammcard, the Music Professionals Network. This was my introduction to events, curating meaningful networking experiences for some of USA’s best talent in the music industry.

Who guides you day to day?
Karen Arkell, head of projects at Sense. She’s an absolute rock for our entire team and I appreciate having her support on the daily.

What’s the best thing about the industry you work in?
Seeing the creative of a brand experience come to life. The performance, the show, the excitement.

And the biggest challenge?
Stress management, especially on tour. I recently completed a meditation course which has proven to be an incredibly helpful tool.

Whose job have you set your sights on in the future?
Executive producer… I’m coming for you.

Where do you turn for inspiration?
Instagram. My favourite accounts at the moment are…. @mindyweiss, @cj_hendry, @the.pinklemonade, @isquatmybrain, @doctorcooper, @condenast, @vincenzodascanio, @goop @milk

My favourite advert is:
Since I’m coming from the brand experience world I have to put forward my favourite experience. Museum of Ice Cream - hands down. If you don’t know it, check it out! I experienced it in Los Angeles. Each room had a different theme with taste testing, giant sculptures and information on the history of ice cream. It was like being in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Tell us one thing people at work don’t know about you?
One of my songs was pitched to Jessie J. However she was launching an upbeat record and wasn’t looking for a ballad…

In five years' time I'll be:
A senior producer, working with a great team to produce large scale exciting events or shows. With plenty of ambition to take regular trips to Bali.
