WPP has lost its third major global account this week with United Airlines moving its media account from Wunderman to Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN) after a review.

Dentsu Aegis Network’s Carat is now responsible for the airline's global media planning and buying account with Merkle handling its social media and targeted marketing.

The news follows decisions made on other global pitches with American Express shifting its media from WPP-owned Mindshare to IPG's UM and Ford moving its global creative from JWT to BBDO.

A report in AdWeek said that Wunderman would remain on the roster leading production and CRM.

The airline’s creative agency of record is Dentsu-owned mcgarrybowen, which retained the account in 2016 after a closed review.

AdNews has approached Dentsu and WPP locally for comment.
