We want you ... to vote for Cleo Media Bachelor of the year

By AdNews | 23 October 2015

The competition for the Cleo Media Bachelor of the Year is getting as hot as the contenders are and to make your Friday infinitely better, we have some more g̶o̶r̶i̶l̶l̶a̶s̶ bachelors in the mist for you to feast your eyes on.

Because we at AdNews don't just provide you with a daily dose of industry news - oh no. Our job is to shed light on that quiet copywriter or data geek hiding abs of steel under that sweater vest, day in and day out at the office. And boy, do we suffer for our art.

Meet Maxus NSW national digital and trading director Ricky Chanana; Val Morgan Queensland account executive Sam Staples; and PHD Media Victoria account coordinator Richard Chelotti. All are fine looking gentleman who all seem to want to go on the same food-related date, but with only one seeming not to understand that gentlemen leave banana talk in the kitchen – not entry forms.

Will Ricky be the last star shining? Will you lend a hand to Richard? Or will Australia's very own Don Draper, Sam, stand-up paddle board his way to the finals (or at least the AdNews Challenge)? There can only be one - so get to know our latest hopefuls and get voting.

Here's what Ricky had to say:

I should be the Cleo Media Bachelor of the year because:

This is difficult to answer, but I think what makes me stand out from the other media bachelors is my values, my passion for life, great work ethic and ability to make everyone laugh.

To impress a girl on a date I would:

Just be myself. I’d take the time to explore my dates interests as well as share my own. To demonstrate that I am a gentleman, I would also take the opportunity to show off culinary skills and cook my date a nice meal. My name Chanana does not rhyme with banana for no reason.

My life motto is:

That life is short so make sure to live it to it’s absolute fullest.

Here is what Sam had to say:

I should be the Cleo Media Bachelor of the year because:

The work girls liken me to Don Draper - a guy with great hair but emotional unavailability. I want to prove them wrong! I'm ready for love.

To impress a girl on a date I would:

Find out what she's interested in and tailor it to her. Is she a foodie? Take her to a cooking class. Loves the outdoors? Go stand-up paddle boarding or to the beach.

My life motto is:

Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.

Here is what Richard had to say:

I should be the Cleo Media Bachelor of the year because:

It's a bit of fun! I don't take myself seriously, so I'm just having a go and seeing what happens.

To impress a girl on a date I would:

Prepare her a lovely meal. I might try my hand at some handmade pasta accompanied by a glass of champagne. We would then head out into town for a drink and a dance at a cool bar.

My life motto is:

Be generous and kind to others. And always be up for a laugh.
