SYDNEY: Australian paint company Wattyl has appointed independent media agency Match to handle its media buying and planning account.
The business covers Wattyl Paints, Solver and Wattyl’s Woodcare range including Estapol. Wattyl opened a "quiet" review of its media business when its contract with incumbent Ikon finished earlier this year. Match's remit covers all media strategy and buying, other than television buying, which will remain with Ikon.
“We felt the need to look at the marketplace for a different approach to our future media activities," said group marketing & retail sales manager Julie Webster.
"Match is a company we feel demonstrates a unique model that will meet our needs and that of our other creative partners. The combination of strong communication strategy, as well as the ability to get the job done at a micro level, is a terrific fit with our team. We are genuinely excited about the positive impact Match can have on our business.
Match was recently appointed to handle media strategy, digital planning and buying for Campari, whose brands include Wild Turkey, Skyy Vodka & Riccadonna.
Match also recently extended its remit on Ateco and now handles its $15 million media strategy, digital planning and buying account.
