Media, advertising and tech company Verizon Media has appointed Andrew Gilbert to the role of head of platform sales, Australia and New Zealand.

Gilbert will be responsible for driving the adoption of Verizon Media’s omnichannel demand-side platform (DSP) for the region, overseeing enterprise sales and service.

The appointment is effective immediately with Gilbert reporting into director of platforms John McNerney.

With nine years of marketing technology and advertising experience, Gilbert joins Verizon Media from Eyeota where he was the commercial director of Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to this, he held a number of senior commercial roles across a number of marketing technology companies including director of sales ANZ at Integral Ad Science (IAS), digital marketing manager of data, performance and search at Vodafone Australia, and digital performance manager at Ikon Communications.

“I’m looking forward to joining the passionate environment at Verizon Media as well as being surrounded by a team that wants to achieve groundbreaking things," Gilbert says.

"As a powerhouse with so many tools and resources available, I’m excited to be a part of a company that is challenging and disrupting the marketing industry.”

John McNerney, director of platforms at Verizon Media, says: “Verizon Media DSP is part of Verizon Media Platforms suite of enterprise tools. We’re dedicated to building a team that supports this customer-centric technology that empowers our clients. We’re excited to have Andrew join the team armed with an impressive background in data-driven marketing and look forward to the input and value he will add to our business and team.”
