Unilever has named EVP of Unilever Middle Europe Conny Braams as its chief digital and marketing officer.

Braams steps into the newly created role following the departure of former chief marketing and communications officer Keith Weed. Weed stepped down in May this year after more than eight years as its top marketer.

Braams has spent the past 30 years with the consumer goods company, working in marketing roles across Europe and Asia.

“Conny Braams is one of our most successful and talented leaders, as well as a highly effective driver of change,” Unilever CEO Alan Jope says.

“As our new chief digital and marketing officer, her experience will be critical to the transformation of Unilever into a future-fit, fully digitised organisation at the leading edge of consumer marketing.”

Along with Braams’ appointment, president of Unilever North America has departed after 30 years in the business. She is replaced by former president and chief executive of Revlon, Fabian Garcia
