UM Melbourne head of strategy David Hearn is set to leave the agency.

Hearn joined the agency in March 2013. Prior to that he was at BWM Melbourne as head of planning following eight years in planning, strategy and insights for Carat in Melbourne and London. Hearn was previously one of four managing partners in UM's Melbourne operation.

Ivo Kavelj and Alex Smith then stepped up as managing director and general manager respectively after UM reorganised the agency's management structure. The other managing partner, Kim Lions, became head of talent for the group's Melbourne operations.

Hearn is set to finish up with the agency mid-August.
