Airtasker's VP of marketing and growth Simon Reynolds has left the business to work on startup brands in the US.

Reporting to the CEO and beginning as employee number 10 in 2014, Reynolds spearheaded the Australian-founded firm's marketing efforts.

Reynolds previously spoke with AdNews about how growing a startup with limited marketing budget was a hard task after launching its first ever major advertising campaign in 2016, Like a Boss, from recently acquired startup agency UDKU, led by former M&C Saatchi heads Mark Timmins and Colin Jowell.

Airtasker's head of growth, Andrianes Pinantoan, who previously worked at Canva and Pocketbook, will now oversee the marketing function.

Reynolds, who was digital marketing manager at Aldi Australia for two years before his Airtasker role, has relocated to San Francisco after being “lured by the glitter of the tech world”. He is working with early stage startups as well as Australian home buying startup Soho App.

“The team at Airtasker wish Simon all the best as he embarks on a new adventure over in San Francisco. The Airtasker Growth team will now be lead by Andrianes Pinantoan,” an Airtasker spokesperson tells AdNews.

Airtasker was taken to court last year over the use of the "Like a Boss" slogan and in its follow-up 2018 campaign it dropped the slogan.

In its most recent campaign, the 'Like a Boss' tagline has been replaced by ''To-do, Ta-da" in a funky new film clip by agency UDKU.
