Australian prime minister Scott Morrison has introduced the next phase of the federal government's coronavirus advertising campaign.

The new ads focus on educating the public around the importance of social distancing.

In a statement on his Instagram, the prime minister wrote:

"The next phase of the national advertising campaign around coronavirus is rolling out this weekend with an important message about keeping a healthy distance from other people.

"Here’s the new outdoor ad you’ll see on the streets, with tv, radio, digital and newspaper ads too."

This is the latest iteration of the $30 million national public health campaign.

Brisbane-based Carbon Creative was behind the initial work for the campaign which rolled out earlier in the month.

The federal health department said in a statement at the time of release:

"The campaign has been developed to ensure timely, factual and consistent information to empower people to adopt behaviours that will prevent and mitigate the impacts of the COVID-19."
