Just a few weeks after Telstra's CMO, Joe Pollard, restructured its media business, the telco has named Michele Garra as its executive director for Telstra Media.

Garra joins Telstra from Optus, where she was vice president of its retail arm. She has worked across strategic and commercial roles in Australia, Asia and the United States. In her new role, Garra will lead the whole media group for the telco.

Pollard's restructure of the division this month saw Telstra's director of digital media and content Adam Good, IPTV head, Eric Kearley, and Telstra TV MD, Ian Davis, all leave the business.

Good told AdNews at the time: “Joe is introducing a new structure and we'll be helping the new leadership transition."

The restructure also saw Pollard hire 9Jumpin and digital director, Rebecca Haagsma, to take on the role of director of mobility products.

Garra will join Telstra in March 2016.
