Telstra has appointed Genelle Sharples into a newly created general manager of media and sponsorships role.

She takes the media portion of what was Harry Lowes GM of media and digital role.

Sharples previously worked with Telstra CMO Joe Pollard at Publicis Mojo where she led new business development. She has also held roles at IPG Mediabrands in Australia and for the last two years Sharples has been a media and advertising consultant in the UAE.

AdNews revealed last week that Lowes has taken on the role of general manager of one-to-one marketing and loyalty, previously held by Nick Adams. He retains responsibility for the digital function.

Adams has moved to another newly created role as executive director of customer value creation within the retail business.

Last month Telstra released a series of new ads under the Thrive On campaign which began in July last year and champions the 'magic of technology'. See here to check out the ads.
