Yahoo 7 Head of Brand Anny Havercroft and DDB’s recent incoming ECD Tara Ford will join Channel 9 head of content and production Adrian Swift and SBS head of strategy John Turnbull at AdNews Live! Reframing Australia on November 15.

Havercroft and Ford will speak on the flagship ‘Re-Imagined ‘Straya’ panel, a discussion that will assess how/why media, TV and advertising needs to shape up, be mindful of who it is depicting, and how the representation of a more genuine Australia will better serve adland, brands, and Australia as a whole. Moderator for this session will be AdNews journalist Arvind Hickman.

AdNews Live! Reframing Australia, hosted at Monkey Baa theatre in Sydney, will look at the cost of creative whitewashing and the business benefits of connecting to Australia’s super-diverse population.

The event will explore the disconnect between the industry and our changing demography, and why brands that do not adopt a more representative approach will lose.

Dr Mehreen Faruqi, the first Muslim woman elected to any Parliament in Australia, will give the keynote opening address.

MLA’s Andrew Howie and The Monkeys’ Scott Nowell will exclusively reveal the strategy behind MLA’s You Never Lamb Alone.

A panel of industry experts including Thang Ngo, Lou Petrolo, Masheila Pillay and Lorraine Jokovic will take on some of the problems encountered by brands when trying to reach our super-diverse population in a live forum.
