Starcom Mediavest's Sydney office has been shaken up with a trio of appointments, including a now ex-Initiative digital communications director.

Ryan Menezes has joined Starcom from Initiative, heading over to become Starcom's Sydney director of technology and digital.

Menezes was with Initiative, but also has previous experience with Starcom where he was digital supervisor.

Meanwhile, Starcom has promoted from within to fill the newly-created national director of content, mobile, and social. Patrick Whitnall had served as national strategy director.

It has also promoted from within to fill its Sydney director of strategy and planning role. Laura Davey was the senior communications strategist before taking on the new responsibility.

Starcom said the appointments brought staff growth at the agency up to 15% over the last 12 months.
