Nine Entertainment says its streaming media platform Stan had a landmark year.

Subscriber growth accelerated through the June half to 2.2 million.

The combination of subscriber build and a $2 price rise in March 2019 underpinned a 54% lift in revenue to $242.1 million for the year to June.

Stan sourced more than 60 first-run exclusives from 17 different distributors.

Popular were Lionsgate’s Love Life, Paramount’s Yellowstone, Normal People from Element Pictures and Stan originals The True History of the Kelly Gang and The Gloaming, while the Group’s library, including the Iconic Series.

They helped to increase total streams by more than 50% and average weekly viewing hours per subscriber by around 20% across the second half.

"There remains further upside in both subscribers and profitability for Stan on a longer-term basis," says Nine.
