Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has rebranded its newly-acquired Redwave Media Western Australian radio stations to the Triple M and Hit brands.

The regional network was sold to SCA last year for $28 million by Seven West Media, as part of the CEO James Warburton’s strategy to offload assets.

Under the rebrand, eight Redwave Media stations will rebrand. Red FM stations will move to Hit radio, while Spirit FM stations come under the Triple M brand.

“We are delighted to welcome the Redwave stations to the Hit and Triple M family of brands, and I’m sure listeners will enjoy the unique mix of music each brand brings to regional West Australians,” says Grant Blackley, SCA CEO.

“Importantly, every station will continue to deliver strong local content and comprehensive coverage of news, information and events across Western Australia reflecting each community’s personality and values.”

The acquisition boosts SCA’s radio footprint to 96 stations nationwide.

The stations to be rebranded:

  • 106.5 Red FM – Karratha – Hit 106.5
  • 101.3 Red FM – Broome - Hit 101.3
  • 91.7 Red FM – Port Hedland – Hit 91.7
  • 96.5 Red FM – Geraldton – Hit 96.5
  • Red FM remote – mine sites – Hit WA

  • Spirit 102.9 FM – Broome – 102.9 Triple M
  • Spirit 94.1 FM – Port Hedland – 94.1 Triple M
  • Spirit 102.5 FM – Karratha – 102.5 Triple M
