Whybin\TBWA Melbourne has been named the full-service creative partner of Schweppes Australia, following a four-way competitive process.

Schweppes had started the process of building an agency roster in June last year under its previous marketer, Troy McKinna, but has now appointed Whybin across its creative duties.

McKinna departed the brand in April for a director role at research and innovation agency, Agents of Spring, with Paul Murphy appointed group marketing manager.

Whybin will start work on the brand immediately, with Murphy noting there are “huge ambitions” for the Schweppes brand in Australia.

“Whybin\TBWA really understood our business challenge, responding with a strong strategic and creative idea,” Murphy says.

"We have enormous continued ambitions for the Schweppes brand in Australia and we feel that the Whybin\TBWA team is absolutely best placed to help us achieve them.”

Whybin\TBWA Melbourne MD Mike Napolitano says the agency is looking forward to help build the “iconic brand”.

“The entire process has been great and we can’t wait to begin making the ideas we won the pitch with,” he says.

Schweppes' last creative agency of record was GPY&R Melbourne.
