Scaling new heights: GroupM conquers Kilimanjaro

A team of GroupM staff have taken on Tanzania's Mount Kilimanjaro – and emerged victorious.

The Media Mountaineers are now safely back in Sydney and are on track to raise more than $100,000 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. Donations were kicked off by a $20,000 lump from GroupM chairman John Steedman.

Chris Adams, commercial director at Mindshare, was part of the mountaineering team.

He told AdNews: “The experience was amazing. Spending seven days and six nights in freezing conditions about the cloud line at high altitude with a tight-knit group, who were bound by the same commitment to reach the summit was a life-rewarding experience.

“Life is short so I believe everyone should stretch out of their comfort zone to undertake such challenges.”

Other members of the trekking team were MediaCom's David Reid, Victor Condogeorges and Adrian King, GroupM's Lee Bustin and Jeremy Hoani, Financeplus' Graham Adamson and Michael Gibbons, plus Philip Gibbons and David Newton.

The team is still collecting donations for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. Click here to support them.
