New digital trading platform for selling cars, Autotrader, has appointed Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney following a competitive pitch.

The new business win sees the agency take on creative duties as the brand looks to disrupt the car trading market.

Autotrader head of marketing Glen Knowles says: “The aim of our marketing is to inspire everyone to challenge the established and traditional way of buying and selling.

“We saw some great thinking during the process but had no hesitation in awarding the business to Saatchi & Saatchi – we’re confident their strategic and creative thinking will help us fulfil our ambition sooner.”

Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney general manager Toby Aldred says: “The opportunity of disrupting this market appealed to our ‘Nothing is Impossible’ spirit. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Glen and his ambitious team throughout process and we can’t wait to get started.”

The Autotrader follows a string of other wins for Saatchi & Saatchi, including Football Federation Australia and ridesharing service Didi.

The win also comes just months after the appointment of new CEO Anthony Gregorio. AdNews recently sat down with the top exec and discussed his plans for the agency, his thoughts on the state of advertising and the work we can expect to see this year. Read more here.
