The Australian Rugby Union has revealed the sponsor of its National Club Championship competition with construction company Buildcorp taking on the naming rights.

The NRC is a major plank in the code's drive to extend interest beyond the the Super Rugby competition and international tests.

The nine team competition kicks off on August 21 and will feature a wide mix of talent ranging from up and coming stars to current members of the Wallabies.

Buildcorp already has links with the code through its sponsorship of university rugby in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Buildcorp Managing Director Tony Sukkar said that the sponsorship deal was a natural progression for the company.

“We are proud to be supporting this important new tier of Australian Rugby, which represents the missing link in the player development pathway from the grassroots through to Super Rugby and Wallaby selection,” Sukkar said.

The announcement of the naming rights partner coincided with the release of the draw for the competition with Fox Sports committing to broadcast one match of the competition live each week.
