AdNews L!VE: Regional Reignited is just around the corner with AdNews set to bring you special video and editorial content on all things regional Australia across a whole week.

2020 has been a pivotal year for regional communities, as COVID-19 forces brands to double down on the domestic market.

In this special week-long virtual event held between November 30 and December 4, AdNews will bring together industry leaders to discuss the opportunities for adland in navigating this new playing field into the new year and beyond.

Iconic Australian television host and journalist Ray Martin will kick off the week in conversation with SCA CEO and managing director Grant Blackley and ACM CEO Allen Williams to talk about the Save Our Voices campaign.

Day Two will bring together Boomtown chair and SCA chief sales officer Brian Gallagher, Australian Tourism Data Warehouse CEO Jan Hutton, Redhanded Communications managing director Lachlan Drummond and IAG director of content and customer engagement Zara Curtis to discuss advertising’s role in shaping regional Australia’s recovery from the bushfires and drought and what advertisers can learn about regional audiences today.

With more flexibility at work than ever before, some Australians are starting to exit big cities for a more affordable and relaxed lifestyle in rural and coastal towns. Day Three sees Pivotus founder and CEO Michael Petersen, Outdoor Media Association CEO Charmaine Moldrich and Initiative global head of good and senior director of strategy Jason Maggs chat about how this shift in working culture and location has changed the industry in 2020.

Regional publishers play a vital role in keeping the community informed, inspired and entertained. However, many mainstream and metro-focused publishers have turned their backs on these communities in what has been one of the biggest shapeshifting years for regional Australia. On Day Four, Near country manager Christian Clark, Richmond River Independent editor Susanna Freymark and MediaCom ANZ CEO Willie Pang discuss where the future of regional publishers lies.

To cap off the week, join AdNews for a fireside chat with founders of viral social media foodie movement #EmptyEsky, Eleanor Baillieu and Erin Boutros. Hear more on how a simple idea on social media engaged audiences and encouraged Australians across the nation to help fire-affected communities.
