Programmatic skills crunch: RadiumOne raids Mi9 for new talent

By AdNews | 28 August 2014

RadiumOne boss Kerry McCabe has again raided his old stomping ground, taking the firm's head of programmatic trading to head up its commercial operations across Asia Pacific.

Patrick D'Arcy joins Evgeny Popov, a former colleague at Mi9 and who left News Corp earlier this year to lead operations in the region.

As it puts the band back together locally, RadiumOne is touting its ability to follow audiences around the internet and deliver deeper audience data to agencies and brands and give publishers deeper insight into how to monetise sharing of content outside of the usual social channels, or so-called dark social.

“Anybody who knows the space well will agree that Pat is exceptional in terms of talent and depth of knowledge across the supply, demand and technology sides of real-time bidding (RTB),” said McCabe.

“Pat is the calibre of individual we need onboard to solve what are often complex business issues for brands and publishers.”

D'Arcy said he was joining “some of the industry’s smartest and most influential thinkers across APAC, North America and the UK,” claiming RadiumOne had a”n offering that stands out as unique in an increasingly cluttered ad-tech landscape.”

As automated trading, programmatic exchanges and real-time bidding gains traction in Australia, the skills shortage facing publishers, agencies, and increasingly brands themselves, is a growing challenge.
