Despite the last minute torrential downpour, nearly 200 media industry execs rocked up to the first Media Thursday of 2016.

From GoPro, ZO, Channel Ten Starcom and MCN, to Nine Entertainment, OMD, Val Morgan, and Fairfax, there were plenty of adland networkers who turned up at The Loft, King Steet Wharf for networking - and drinks.

The event marked the rebirth of Media Thursdays, formerly known as Media Fridays, also marking the end of many people's Dry January.

It was organised by Starcom client business manager Samantha Nobes; ZenithOptimedia account executive planner/buyer, Andrew Lowther; News Corp digital account manager, Clem Birdsall; and Mindshare media exec Raymond Ly.

"We can tell it's building momentum and there is a lot of buzz and talk around Media Thursdays in the industry so we know it’s only going to get better and better," Nobes - who has just scored a transfer with her Starcom role to a job in the Big Apple - says.
