PHD Melbourne has appointed Liam Pook as head of digital.

Pook previously worked in the UK as digital innovations strategist at Google's Media Lab. He has also worked at Essence, Digitas UK and Starcom.

In his new role, he will report to Melbourne’s general manager Simon Lawson.

“I’m looking forward to drawing on my experience both agency and client side to help solve client challenges, uncover new and innovative opportunities, and push PHD’s digital capabilities into 2020 and beyond,” Pook says.

“I’m thrilled to be joining a group of like-minded individuals who are passionate about ‘what’s next’ in the industry, and care deeply about the work they deliver, as well as the people around them.”

Pook’s remit covers all Melbourne-based clients including ANZ, Carlton United Breweries, Priceline, 7-Eleven, Porsche and the AFL.

He takes over from Schalk van der Sandt, who is now the head of Annalect in Melbourne.
