Peer Group Media, the music-based publisher, has appointed Austereo's national tour and promotions manager Jo Walker as strategic partner and co-owner.

Walker will work with Peer Group Media founder and chief executive Adam Zammit to build the group into a larger entertainment and media organisation, utilising Walker's advertising, marketing and promotional expertise.

Zammit said: "With the growing demand for the successful combination of art commerce, I've found in Jo someone equally passionate about creative and commercial solutions.

"She brings the wealth of relationships, ideas and strong tested nerve to a business that thrives on big thinking and perfect outcomes."

Peer Group publishes street press title The Brag, as well as music industry magazine The Music Network, and works with brands such as General Pants, Optus, Motorola, Cancer Council, Converse, Bacardi, Lion Nathan, Jay Jays and Cadbury.

Walker has been Austereo national tour and promotions manager for the past six years, and worked most recently on launching Austereo's digital station Radar. She will continue in this role, in addition to her new role at Peer Group Media.

The appointment is effective from this week.
