Clive Palmer continues to threaten to launch a whistleblower website for News Corp journalists as well as a paper called The Australasian Times. But the PUP leader remains tight-lipped on launch dates, or any detail.

The PUP leader was interviewed this morning on the Kyle and Jackie O show on ARN's Kiis.

“We should have our own Australian news,” said Palmer. “I don't want to interfere with content. Nobody gets more criticised than I do and I don't mind that. We need freedom of speech and democracy but Australians need to decide what is best for Australia. That is what it boils down to and that is what we are trying to do.”

Palmer didn't specify when the paper might launch. But he talked up expansion plans beyond the mooted flagship masthead remained in play.

“We've got the name registered. I don't know whether it is going to be a paper, it might be a website and a paper... and we are looking at another publication: News on News Limited, which could be a website, where News Limited journalists could log on anonymously and post a story about what's happening at News today throughout the world.”

There could be “a lot of interesting things to talk about”, Palmer suggested.

However, the plan is not new, with domains for the two sites registered last year. It is understood News Corp is unconcerned about any developments that may arise.
