Optus has appointed Corin Dimopoulos into the newly created role of head of brand of communications.

Dimopoulos was formerly marketing director at News Corp, and prior to that, 21st Century Fox

The role, is in part replacing Nathan Rosenberg's role as head of brand. He left the telco a year ago to take up a job in the US. Following his departure Optus installed Sue Bailey as interim CMO. She is now leading a three-year transformation strategy.

Optus has since made a host of changes to its marketing structure and in April promoted Vicki Brady, former head of customer, to the role of managing director of marketing and products with the aim of bringing product and brand marketing closer together. She oversees brand marketing, product marketing, insights, billing and customer experience.

He took up the new role in mid-June and reports to Brady.

The telco called a review on both its media and creative agencies in June with RFI's submitted by agencies two weeks ago.
Optus is renowned for holding protracted pitches. A Spokesperson declined to comment on shortlisted agencies at this point, but added that the review is expected to at least finalise 'this year'.
