Optus has appointed OgilvyOne to the Optus business account, following a competitive pitch.

The agency will support Optus Business across its customer and market communications.

In a statement the agency said it would be: “focussing on some key direct marketing initiatives in 2015 as part of its transformation into the broader technology space.”

David Caspari, VP products and ICT for Optus Business, said: “Throughout the tender process we saw a number of high quality presentations. OgilvyOne’s ability to apply strategic thinking in a fast changing technology environment coupled with their depth of understanding of the B2B sector were differentiators for us. We welcome them on board at what is an exciting time for our business.”

David Fox, CEO of Ogilvy Australia, said: “This appointment is a great opportunity for OgilvyOne, and we’re excited by the prospect of partnering with such a leading brand to help shift perceptions.  The OgilvyOne team can’t wait to get started."

OgilvyOne is part of Ogilvy Australia and the STW group.

Optus currently also has its direct marketing business out to pitch.
