OMD has promoted Dan Robins to the role of head of interactive for the Sydney digital team. He fills the position left vacant by Stuart Bailey who rose up the ranks to become chief digital officer at the back end of last year.

Reporting to Bailey, Robins will take overall responsibility for the OMD digital output in Sydney, as well as the continuous development of OMD’s digital product.

OMD CEO Peter Horgan said: “Dan has been instrumental in developing the industry leading work we have been doing with Telstra in the digital space and he has also been leading our digital performance product over the last 18 months. He is the ideal choice to run the Sydney digital offering.”

Robins joined OMD from Carat London at the start of 2013, where he was head of paid search for the UK, working on clients such as General Motors, Santander, Travelodge, Vodafone and Diageo. He has also worked at The Search Works. His promotion is effective immediately.

OMD has specifically built a hybrid trading desk model for Telstra, which has seen it grow its investment in programmatic by 56%.

Robins said: “These are exciting times for digital at OMD. The journey the agency has been on over the last couple of years to beef up our digital offering and embed digital practitioners into the business management teams has put us on a strong footing to tackle the shift in communications to be ever more digitally minded.”
