Emma Chamberlain helped launch Nine's online rebrand earlier this year.

The managing editor of Nine's online portal Emma Chamberlain has stepped down and will not be replaced, AdNews understands.

Chamberlain helped launch the rebrand of nine.com.au in July and has held senior online editorial roles at Nine Entertainment for more than a decade.

More recently, she was instrumental in launching several key verticals, including 9Honey, 9Pickle, 9Coach, 9Elsewhere and 9Kitchen.

It is understood Chamberlain left the media company to look for new opportunities. AdNews understands the online news team will undergo a minor restructure in the coming weeks.

Nine's chief digital and marketing officer Alex Parsons said: "I want to take this opportunity to thank Emma for the significant contribution to the business she has made over the years and our most recent audience figures, which showed we have cemented our place as third largest commercial news website in Australia. These are a testament to her leadership."
