Nine is bringing back Who Wants to be a Millionaire for a round of prime-time special events.

The quiz show will return from January 25, at 7.30pm, on Nine and will be hosted by Eddie McGuire who will be quizzing some of Australia’s top celebrities and sports stars, as well as frontline workers.

“We are starting the year with a bang,” says McGuir.

“Who Wants To Be A Millionaire swept the nation after it premiered in 1999 and is still the greatest quiz show of all time.

“It is a joy to bring the format back to raise money for charities with some of Australia’s best celebrities and sport stars. It is also humbling to be able to give Australia’s incredible frontline workers a chance to take home big money.”

Celebrities and sports stars such as Rachel Griffiths, Red Symons, Samuel Johnson, Andrew Gaze, Tayla Harris, and Billy Slater will compete for the chance to win $1 million for a charity of their choice.

For the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire frontline workers special, emergency service professionals and volunteers will have the chance to win $1 million.
