L to R: Luke Amasi, Remi Baker and Josh McDonnell

In the first NGEN Podcast for 2019, AdNews journalist Josh McDonnell sits down with Bohemia media executive Luke Amasi and PHD strategy director Remi Baker to talk building your professional brand.

Amasi and Baker discuss the difference between a professional and personal brand, as well as share their top tips for getting ahead and making yourself known in the industry.

Both also talk about their top experiences that have contributed to the development of their own brands in the workplace.

Amasi reflects on his time spent on both the agency and client side and how each played a vital role in developing his own unique approach to professional brand development.

He also reveals early lessons on entering the agency landscape and a corporate environment.

Baker gives her advice for getting ahead, which includes putting your hand up for more extracurricular activities, such as taking a stab at initiatives including Canne Young Lions.

Baker and Amasi also emphasise that it's about getting the simple things right, whether that being knowing who to take advice from in the industry, right down to ensuring you know how to craft a professional email.
