News Corp is on the hunt for a new head of programmatic trading after Jason Denny left the position to take up a Singapore-based role with Commercialize TV.

Denny, who arrived at News Corp back in 2013 in a channel strategy and revenue operations role, before spending 16 months as head of programmatic trading, joins Commercialize TV as vice president of ad marketplaces.

Back in 2010 Denny worked as a senior yield analyst on The Wall Street Journal in New York and also spent time in the Big Apple as a director, revenue management and analytics at Dow Jones.

He will be based in Singapore managing Commercialize TV’s (CTV) trading and programmatic platform relationships globally, with particular focus of China, Korea and South East Asia. The company is said to be Asia’s “fastest growing multi-channel network”.

In joining the business, Denny will give clients access to premium video inventory in China around high performing content verticals, while also taking a market leading position within a high growth sector of digital media.

Commercialize TV CEO, Craig Galvin, said Denny’s appointment is part of CTV’s commitment to support media agencies and their digital activities.

“The rapid rise of programmatic digital advertising is an incredible exciting evolution of the media landscape,” Galvin said.

“The establishment of CTV’s private marketplace will provide agencies and clients a vehicle to buy premium digital video advertising with confidence and at scale. I am thrilled to have someone as experienced and credentialed as Jason join the CTV team and drive our programmatic offering, he will add significantly to the business and to our partners’ success.”

Denny said it is an exciting time to join CTV, with programmatic digital advertising beginning to take hold in the Asian market.

“Whether you’re a buyer, seller or marketer, the time is right to usher in programmatic solutions wherever possible and at a global level,” Denny said.

“CTV has an opportunity to make significant breakthroughs in this area and as a new member of the team – I’m thrilled to help CTV lead the charge in China and the broader Asian markets,” he said.

Denny is not the first sort-after ad tech exec from Australia to head overseas for a new role. In February AdNews revealed that Ikon Communications' head of tech and innovation, “Programmatic Phil” Cowlishaw was set for a move stateside to head up a division in TubeMogul US.
