News Corp names Cannes Young Lions finalists

News Corp Australia has named the final short-list in the Australian Young Cannes Lions competition. Ten winners will go the the Cannes advertising festival in June.

Entrants come from all the top agencies including Droga5, M&C Saatchi, We Are Social, Whybin\TBWA, Grey, Leo Burnett, GPYR, Carat, UM, Mindshare, 303Lowe Sydney, Ogilvy & Mather and JWT.

A panel of judges including Justin Robinson head of marketing and media for Foxtel, Adam Rose, creative director for AJF Partnership; Sean Hall, general manager of brand strategy, marketing and channels for Telstra, and Jo Boundy, head of digital and entertainment, brand, marketing and corporate affairs for Qantas, selected the 61 finalists.

In the next stage the short-listed finalists in the marketing, media, print and digital categories will compete in a 24-hour brief. Finalists in the film category will work on a 8-hour brief. The 10 winners will head to the Cannes advertising festival in June while runners up in the media and print categories will represent Australia at the Young Spikes Asia Competition in Singapore in September. Winners will be announced on 29 May.
