Insurer IAG has hired Mark Drasutis as its chief digital officer to lead its digital strategy and experience team. Drasutis joins from News Corp where he was chief digital product officer, and previously led innovation, overseeing digital product, platform, UXD, audience insights and innovation.

Drasutis will join in October and sit within the IAG Customer Lab unit, which houses marketing, data and insights and pricing, brand architecture, human-centred design, and new business incubation and venturing. It is led by chief customer officer Julie Batch.

He is tasked with helping IAG anticipate what’s next for its customers in a connected world and deliver relevant experiences.

Earlier this year IAG hired Brent Smart to lead marketing in the same unit. Check out the June issue of AdNews to read a profile interview with Smart.

“Mark is an innovator, consumer product expert and strategic visionary who cares deeply about building high-performing teams, working in agile environments and focusing on the needs of customers,” Batch says.

“Under Mark’s guidance, we can accelerate our focus on driving IAG forward to become a leader in digitally-enabled customer experiences.”

IAG's brands include NRMA Insurance, CGU, SGIO, SGIC and WFI in Australia, as well as NZI and AMI in New Zealand.

Prior to News Corp, Drasutis spent five years with Yahoo in the EMEA region where he led delivering engaging consumer experiences across a wide range of markets and platforms using data and customer insights to inform strategic business decisions.
