Y&R Melbourne wins Alfa Romeo
Alfa Romeo has appointed Y&R Melbourne as its lead creative agency. Y&R won the business following an “exhaustive” pitch process and is now tasked with working on every aspect of brand and customer experience. Fulvio Antonelli, Alfa Romeo marketing and product director, says: “We have a huge 2018 planned with big ambitions for Alfa Romeo in Australia. To realise these ambitions, we needed the right strategic creative agency partner.” Matt Farrugia, Y&R Melbourne managing partner, says: “We love working with ambitious clients, and are absolutely thrilled to be doing so for such an esteemed brand as Alfa Romeo.” Alfa Romeo is aprt of Fiat Chrysler.

Ten reveals brand partners for I’m a Celebrity

Six key brands are joining Channel Ten in the jungle this year as the new season of I’m a Celebrity get me out of here launches. It has named KFC, Isuzu UTE Australia, Captain Morgan and Nutra-Life, but says there are more partnerships lined up that it can’t reveal at this stage. Network Ten Executive general manager of revenue and client partnerships, Rod Prosser, says the 2016 audience increased 11% from the year before with more people watching via online catch up. It increased 91% in 2017 with views on Tenplay soaring 101%.

Sweet hire for The Sweet Shop

The Sweet Shop has signed international director Gudmundur Arnar Gudmundsson. Gudmundur is an awarded Icelandic director, and widely regarded as being among the next generation of outstanding filmmakers. His Whale Valley (2013) about the bond of two brothers received a Cannes Film Festival Special Mention and a nomination for the European Film Awards. Gudmundur developed and wrote his first feature Heartstone (2017) a very personal story about two boys coming of age in a small Icelandic fishing village during a Cannes Cinefondation, a Paris residency programme.
