Lavender appoints Helge Gruttke to direct Telstra account

Customer experience agency Lavender has appointed former Grey Germany global brand agency leader Helge Gruttke as business director on its Telstra account. 

The award-winning Gruttke has more than 15 years' experience, and has previously worked at agencies such as BDO, Gyro, and Geometry.

Most recently, he oversaw more than 30 markets for Allianz and was the principal on the germanwings and ArcelorMittal work at Grey Germany.  

Mnet and AFL launch Grand Final Week app

The Australian Football League (AFL) has teamed up with mobile solutions agency Mnet Mobile to launch Explore AFL, an interactive app that ties in with Toyota AFL Grand Final week events. 

Available on both iOS and Android, Explore AFL gives fans access to exclusive AFL content such as videos, maps, vouchers, offers, prizes and locked content. It also allows the AFL to make direct contact with supporters via push messaging. 

It is also complementary to the AFL Live App, which is powered by Telstra. 

“Partnering the AFL in the busiest week of their sporting calendar is a great showcase for this technology," said Mnet CEO Scott Player.

“The experiences available for consumers extend the engagement and interactivity of AFL’s events allowing deeper engagement with the sport."

Twitter marketing head keynote speaker for ADMA WA conference

Twitter's Australia and New Zealand head of marketing has been announced as the keynote speaker for the Association for Data-driven Marketing and Advertising (ADMA) WA's annual marketing conference. 

Maher will give a talk on the theme 'Engagement Moves Fast', discussing how "marketers can effectively leverage their social channels to stay engaged with customers and potential customers". 

Taking place on October 23 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, the conference also features workshops from ADMA's Craig Wallis and CFC Group's executive business strategist Coert du Plessis. 

In a first for this conference, the morning sessions will also feature a creative panel which will discuss creative effectiveness.

Sitting on this panel will be Pen of Spades director Wayne Lubbe, Hart Black director Euan Black and The Brand Agency's creative director Craig Buchanan. 

Stephen Curry to host 2015 Australian Commercial Radio Awards 

Award-winning comedian and actor Stephen Curry will host the 27th annual Australian Commercial Radio Awards. 

The event will take place at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday 10 October. 

Curry will be joined on stage by some of the biggest names in radio, including Kyle Sandilands, Jackie Henderson and Ben Fordham, as well as Queensland presenters Ashley Bradnam, Paul Gale and Robin Bailey. 

“There are many talented people working in radio and I look forward to celebrating their success and being part of radio’s annual awards,” said Curry.
