Toyota ties up with Uber

Toyota has announced a strategic investment and auto leasing partnership with ridesharing platform Uber.

The memorandum of understanding will see the two companies explore collaboration, starting with trials in ridesharing, in countries where it is expanding.

Toyota senior managing official Shigeki Tomoyama says: “Ridesharing has huge potential in terms of shaping the future of mobility. Through this collaboration with Uber, we would like to explore new ways of delivering secure, convenient and attractive mobility services to customers.”

M&C Saatchi appoints four new strategy hires

M&C Saatchi has made four new strategy hires to its team. Justin Stafford joins as strategy director from Havas, Stephen Dodd joins as integrated strategy director from M&C Saatchi/Lida London, Nicky Bryson joins as senior strategist from Leo Burnett and Grace Wallace joins as a strategist from GPY&R.

M&C Saatchi strategy lead Alex Roper says: "We thought it imperative to secure a genuine mix of skills, particularly for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. We have a true blend. Some a bit more digital, some are behavioural and some are more brand-oriented.”

TRACK names CRM lead

TRACK Melbourne has named global CRM strategist, Preetesh Parmar, as its new head of CRM and strategy at the newly rebranded agency. Parmar is a senior CRM and e-commerce professional with over 13 years’ experience working across UK with international beauty brands, luxury fashion, grocery and telecom sectors for companies including Orange, Sainsbury’s, Liberty, Jack Wills and Liz Earle.
