Senior LinkedIn staffer goes to Buzzfeed

Buzzfeed has bolstered its commercial operations by bringing in two new senior staff.

Former LinkedIn head of enterprise, David Nemes, will join as director of brand strategy, leading commercial operations for Buzzfeed Australia. Brad Arnold, whose background includes work for Telstra Ad Network/MCN, MTV, as well as agencies Universal McCann and Starcom, will come on board as manager of brand strategy.

Nemes will work with clients to create campaigns that will engage with Buzzfeed's audience while Arnold will have an initial focus on helping advertisers to understand the media company's value proposition.

AWARD Awards collaborates with Semi Permanent

The Australasian Writers and Art Directors Association (AWARD) is collaborating with Semi Permanent by including an AWARD showcase in the arts event and by using it to host its annual ceremony.

The Communications Council CEO Tony Hale said the move ties in with one of the organisation's key priorities of showcasing the best of the advertising industry to a broader audience.

Our members will also benefit from access to Semi Permanent talks and exhibitions with discounted rates and invitations to exclusive member events,” Hale said. “There is a real focus on creativity in Sydney during May, with Vivid held concurrently - it’s important that AWARD is a prominent part of that celebration.”
