More adland execs lured to PwC

PwC has hired OMD Australia's head of strategy and innovation Ben Shepherd. Shepherd will lead the media investment and planning discipline across the CMO Advisory business which launched earlier this year. He will be “providing clients with objective and transparent advice to help them maximise their media investment across all channels”, says director for the CMO Advisory practice Justin Papps. Shepherd, who starts at the firm in July after three years at OMD, joins Leo Burnett strategy director TC Miles who started at PwC in February and and M&C Saatchi strategy director Nicky Bryson, who started at PwC in April. In March AdNews reported how PwC will also consult Australian Association of National Advertisers CEO Sunita Gloster and Foxtel MD of customer and retail Mark Buckman to help guide the firm on its new consulting business to marketers. Miles, Bryson and Shepherd join a growing team of former marketers and agency executives building out the client offering at PwC.

Ooh!Media wins tender for SA Government

Out of home firm Ooh!Media has strengthened its out of home market leadership in South Australia by winning a major government contract for 40 large format billboards across Adelaide’s metropolitan area. The competitive tender by the SA Government’s Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure was successfully retained by the company, which has held it since its acquisition of Russell Ads in the early 2000s. The long-term agreement gives Ooh! the rights to deliver advertising on the existing suite of 40 classic billboards and upgrade key strategic locations to digital. The 40 billboards are widely spread across Adelaide and this is the biggest single contract of large format billboards in Adelaide.
