QMS launches "The Crown"

Out of home (OOH) company QMS has launched a new digital billboard, 'The Crown', located on the Crown Entertainment Complex Kingsway tunnel in Melbourne.

Early advertisers for billboard include Telstra, Mazda, Domain Property and Hyundai, with the new release brining the total number of digital billboards on offer by QMS to 23.

One of the benefits of the new billboard is its ability to provide uninterrupted viewing and long dwell times to large volumes of traffic, particularly during the morning peak hour.

QMS CEO Barclay Nettlefold said: "The Crown provides our advertisers with another opportunity to impact a key entertainment precinct and major corridor into Melbourne’s CBD. This site, along with our existing iconic CBD digitals in The Flinders, Melbourne Square and The Punt enables CBD domination with the added benefit of digital engagement and flexibility.”

J Walter Thompson launches Jump/Start program

J Walter Thompson has launched a new global Jump/Start program, aimed at helping young creative thinkers from diverse backgrounds break into advertising.

The global talent development program aims to collapse boundaries by attracting and retaining students and recent graduates who have diverse and multidisciplinary backgrounds: from film theatre, creative writing, tech, product design and more.

Participating students will receive a monthly stipend for the duration of the three-month internship.

Speaking about the program, J Walter Thompson Sydney executive creative director Simon Langley said the agency and it's clients will be "all the better for it."

“Creativity is a combination of something you have, and something you learn," Langley said. "We’re excited by the prospect of bringing in minds from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines that can apply new ways of looking at, and tackling business issues using creativity.

"What’s more, we are ideally placed to help teach the creative process to people who may have a natural flair, but a lack of experience."
