Simplot chooses Initiative as media partner

Former Huckleberry client Simplot, which owns brands such as Birds Eye and John West, has appointed Initiative as media communications partner - managing all aspects of Simplot’s investments across all media.

Simplot, which according to Nielsen has a media spend is about $11.9million, called a media review in August after the recent Dentsu shake-up.

Simplot chief marketing and digital officer, Fiona Allen, said:“We’d like to thank the Vizeum team for taking great care of our business during the transitional period, they have demonstrated commitment and professionalism while managing the media needs for our brands.”

Flourish digital launches in Aus

Established UK digital creative and planning agency, Flourish, has today announced it's opening offices in Sydney.
The expansion comes on the back of securing Samsung Electronics Australia’s digital CRM business after a 4-way pitch. Flourish has been selected to support the brand as it further evolves its digital customer offering and communication program.

Ex-IAB CEO moves to digital video agency

Former IAB CEO Paul Fisher has been announced as the commercial director of Cartelux, an Australian based digital video agency.
Fisher joins Cartelux from Nielsen, where he was managing director media, South East Asia, North Asia and Pacific.  Previously he was CEO of IAB Australia. He has also worked with News Corp, WIN Television, NineMSN and Austereo over his 20 year career.
Cartelux delivers “end-to-end premium digital video solutions, underpinned by integrated strategy, creative and digital media services”. Its blue chip brands include CoreLogic, Stockland, Lendlease, Toyota, Holden, Nissan, and Volkswagen.

Bauer names digital commercial director for Xcel Media

Bauer Xcel Media today announced the appointment of Peter Manten to the role of digital commercial director of Bauer Xcel Media Australia and New Zealand.

In his role, Manten will oversee the day-to-day commercial and sales operations of all of Bauer Xcel’s digital businesses, including some of Australia’s most recognisable consumer brands including The Australian Women’s Weekly, Woman’s Day, Australian Gourmet Traveller along with Bauer Xcel automotive properties, including the recently launched WhichCar.com.au.
