Facebook integrates notifications across all apps

Brands can now respond to Facebook, Instagram and Messenger notifications in one app, with the social giant announcing overnight that its updated the inbox functionality across these platforms. Meaning that brands can now quickly scan all three channels for new updates and they can reply to Facebook comments, visitor posts, reviews, messages and Instagram comments directly from the updated inbox by tapping on the content they want to answer. This can be extended to individuals as well.

Snapchat ups targeting - inks deal with Foursquare

Photosharing app Snapchat is aiming to get more targeted, with the business inking a deal with Foursquare. According to AdWeek this deal sees Snapchat advertisers now having access to Foursquare's data points that map some 90 million locations when running geofilter campaigns. This is beneficial to brands because now a retailer could home in on a specific store location instead of zeroing in on the larger shopping centre for example. Or a fast-food brand will be able to pinpoint specific restaurants.

Chris Platt named MD of UM Brisbane

Former GPY&R campaign planning director Chris Platt has joined UM Brisbane. Platt takes on the role of MD, beginning in January of next year. Prior to GPY&R, Platt was the head of strategy for Carat Brisbane and consultant strategist for Haystac.

Vizeum bolsters leadership team

Vizeum has continued to bolster its senior leadership team, appointing Stephen Deane and Tom Cooper as general managers in Sydney and Melbourne. Dean has held CMO roles at Online Courses, Guvera and Shine Lawyers throughout his career. Joining from Cowan Design, Cooper has previously worked at GPY&R and M&C Saatchi. 

Snap Inc has confidentially filed for IPO

The parent company for Snapchat, Snap Inc, has filed confidentially for its initial public offering, according to reports. The company is seeking to raise as much as $4 billion, which would give it a valuation of between $25 billion and $35 billion, says a report from Bloomberg. The confidential filing, a move Twitter made in 2013, indicates Snap Inc’s annual revenue is under $1 billon. The IPO is expected as early as March.

DJ Khaled reveals new Ford car on Snapchat

The so-called King of Snapchat, DJ Khaled, who Snapchatted his son’s birth used the photo-sharing platform to reveal Ford’s new “baby”. On Monday night, Khaled revealed the car to his 6 million followers – the first ever revealed on Snapchat, according to Ford. Ford isn't the first brand to tap into Khaled's larger-than-life personality, with Apple and Ciroc vodka also inking deals with the star.
