News Corp has shed around 20 staff from its national ad sales division. A raft of senior execs have left, including Dr. Stephen Hollings, director of sales strategy.

Hollings departs News tomorrow after being with the company since 1997.

Other members of the national sales team who are understood to have departed are Damien Munday, head of creative and Ken Benson, head of entertainment. Benson had been in the role for 11 years.

An internal e-mail was sent to staff by group director of sales, Fiorella Di Santo, outlining the changes

It is not yet known if any roles will be replaced, or how the current structure of the team stands.

News Corp Australia declined to comment.

Correction: News have since clarified that Samantha Bourke, general manager sales, based in Queensland, resigned from the company in the same week and her departure is not linked to the 20 job losses.
