It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out the biggest moves in adland this week.

WPP AUNZ appoints Jens Monsees as new CEO
WPP AUNZ has appointed Jens Monsees as chief executive officer and managing director, effective 1 October, 2019. Monsees will join WPP AUNZ from the BMW Group, where he was most recently corporate VP leading global digital strategy, corporate planning and product strategy. During his time at BMW, Monsees has been instrumental in the business and cultural transformation of the global BMW Group from a traditional Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) into a customer-focused and data-driven mobility tech company. Monsees is a seasoned client side leader and has held a range of senior executive positions in digital marketing and branding.

Ogilvy Melbourne bolsters leadership team
Ogilvy Melbourne has bolstered its leadership team, promoting Danielle Chapman to the role of managing partner. Chapman, who joined the agency almost three years ago, was previously group account director responsible for some of the agency’s biggest clients, most recently leading the Mondelēz creative account. With a career spanning more than two decades, Chapman’s experience includes tourism, financial services, telecommunications and FMCG. Prior to joining Ogilvy, she held senior roles at Publicis Mojo, GPY&R and CHE. In her new role Chapman will continue to head the Mondelēz creative account and take a leading role in the agency’s growth in mass personalisation blending creativity, data and technology.

Reprise develops new senior roles
IPG Mediabrands' digital full-service media unit Reprise has developed two new senior roles following a slew of new business wins, as the agency continues to expand locally. Marcelo Andrade has been appointed as national head of strategy, and Jodie Palmer has been named client advisory director for Reprise’s Adelaide-based business. Both are newly created positions. Andrade was previously head of strategy at Starcom Sydney servicing clients including Samsung, Visa, Metcash and Subaru. Prior to Starcom, Andrade was the digital strategy director at OMD on the McDonalds business. Palmer will principally lead Reprise’s business relationship with the Government of South Australia. She previously held a senior client strategy role at Starcom Adelaide.

Ten boosts digital capabilities with new appointment
Network Ten has appointed Sophie Hicks Lloyd as its new director of digital sales, as the network continues to invest in its digital capabilities. Lloyd was previously Ten's head of content, marketing and commercial partnerships. As director of digital sales, Lloyd is responsible for sales revenue across Ten’s digital platforms including live streaming and broadcast video on-demand platform 10 Play, news website 10 Daily and podcasting platform 10 Speaks. She will also oversee 10’s programmatic capability. Lloyd has almost 20 years in digital sales, marketing and strategy.

Nicholas Bailly promoted to senior commercial role at carsales.com.au
Nicholas Bailly has been appointed to the position of NSW & QLD state manager (OEM and media) at carsales.com.au. The promotion comes after almost three years as account director (OEM and corporate relationships). Nicholas is responsible for ensuring the success of the carsales media sales teams in NSW and QLD, while continuing to develop and foster OEM relationships. Prior to carsales, Nicholas worked for Hyundai and Subaru across various digital and retail marketing roles. Nicholas has also held marketing and commercial roles at eftpos Australia and the Razor Group.

Facebook's Rob Hotchin joins Seven West Media
Rob Hotchin has joined Seven West media as digital group sales manager, Melbourne, part of the media group's strategy to increase direct digital sales capacity. Hotchin joins Seven from Facebook where he held the role of client partner. Before that he was a sales director at global digital advertising specialist Exponential. The appointment is part of Seven West Media’s strategy to fully own and operate direct to consumer digital products. More than 35 team members have been added over 18 months.

Pacific creates new head of video role
Pacific continues to focus on video as a core strategy with the appointment of Keshnee Kemp to the newly created role of head of video, while Lucy Chesterton joins as digital content director. Kemp is now responsible for video content strategy including ideation, creation and production of original video content. She had previously been editor and content director of WHO since May last year. Chesterton replaces Brett Wadelton who left Pacific in February. She now oversees digital audience and content strategy, creation and delivery across the publisher’s brands. Chesterton was previously head of Yahoo Lifestyle for three years and has also worked at Bauer Media and Nine.

303 MullenLowe promotes Joanna Gray to managing director
303 MullenLowe has promoted Joanna Gray to managing director of its Sydney office. Gray joined the agency last year as managing partner, bringing more than 15 years' experience with her. She began her career in New Zealand working agencies including with Colenso BBDO and Mojo. Gray relocated Australia in 2011 where she joined Host Sydney for three years, followed by The Works where she was head of client service, before being promoted to general manager.

Former BuzzFeed sales boss David Nemes joins Nugit
Data storytelling platform Nugit has appointed former BuzzFeed sales chief David Nemes as its first country manager, following significant Australian growth. In his new role, Nemes will continue to build Nugit’s market presence, drive commercial growth and build out the local team with a client services manager to be appointed in the coming months. Nemes was BuzzFeed Australia’s first sales head joining in 2015 to lead commercial operations across Asia Pacific with responsibility for revenue, client services, creative and advertising operations. Prior to BuzzFeed, Nemes spent almost six years at LinkedIn joining as part of the foundation team in APAC.

Edelman Australia has a new CEO
Michelle Hutton is returning to Australia to replace Steve Spurr as CEO of Edelman Australia and also to take on a regional role as chief growth officer for Asia-Pacific. Spurr is taking off at the end of July on a sabbatical after more than two decades with the communications firm and three and a half years as CEO in Australia. Hutton returns to the region having served in several international roles with Edelman including as chair of the brand business, chief operations officer for Europe and her current role as managing director, global client strategy. She is also president of the PR Jury at this year’s Cannes Lions.

Officeworks hires new general manager for marketing
Officeworks has appointed Jess Richmond to the newly created role of general manager of marketing. Richmond has previously been head of brand and communications at 7 Eleven, where she headed up advertising, marketing and brand and digital. She has also held senior marketing roles at Coles and Boost Juice Bars. The new role for Officeworks includes advertising, brand and CRM.

RXP Group names Adrian Fitzpatrick as non-executive director
Digital services consultancy RXP Group has appointed Adrian Fitzpatrick as a non-executive director, commencing 1 July 2019. Fitzpatrick brings extensive operational, financial management and strategic experience acquired from an executive career that has spanned over 30 years. He has held senior leadership and management positions with Pitcher Partners, where he was one of the firm’s founding partners, and provided strategic and general business advice to many growth-orientated businesses. Fitzpatrick currently holds a number of directorships, including ARB Corporation Limited, an ASX 200 company, and Accident Compensation Conciliation Service – a Victorian State Government Authority.

Digital8 snares programmer and IT specialist
Brisbane-based digital agency Digital8 has hired Peter Fogarty as head of production. Fogarty brings more than 12 years of experience with him to the agency. He began his career at a digital development shop in Milton and worked his way up to operations engineer with multinational BHP in Singapore. He was involved with Brisbane’s first internet café in the late '90s, and has worked on high profile projects such as building Root Certification Authority software for the Australian Army and architecting the retail bank merger between Westpac and St George. He has also worked for brands including IBM, Oracle, NAB and Esanda.
